Dizzy when I stand up?

I'm a 13 year old girl, vegetarian, very active (distance runner, 27 miles per week), and a little bit under weight. My resting heart rate when I wake up in the morning is between 48 and 55 bpm.

For about a year now, every time I stand up when I'm either laying down or sitting, I get really dizzy and have to hold onto something and close my eyes for 30 or so seconds. For the next few minutes I wont really be aware of what I'm doing and my head will feel really cloudy.

The rest of the time I feel perfectly fine, but I can't figure it out. I've heard that having a low resting heart rate could have something to do with it, but it's only really low when I wake up in the morning.

Thanks =)

Yup, low pressure. I have this too. Take your time getting up. This can be perfectly normal, but why not see a doc anyway? Reasurance if nothing else.

Good health to you!

:)
Yes, it probably has a lot to do with your resting HR. Try not to stand/sit up so fast. Give yourself time to adjust and get up more slowly
talk to your doctor. it could be nothing, but it could also be a serious health condition. your doctor may need to run some tests.
I think you need to see the doctor because you are a bit too young for orthostatic hypotension (the dizziness when standing too quickly). That dizziness is caused by a very low blood pressure which need to be evaluated. Or maybe you need a better diet, needing some protein (tofu), iron and more calories in your diet. Anyway i recommend a visit to your primary care, they would have more information to go on.
lightheadedness is related to iron deficiency, or iron anemia.
talk to your doctor, or go buy foods with alot of iron in it.
