Difficult to fall asleep and waking up in the middle of the night really sweaty.

I've been having a tough time with getting to sleep lately, and also I've been waking up to a sweaty pillow and sheets. I'm not sure what I can do to remedy this problem, but it's been pretty undesirable since I don't get any solid sleep usually. This problem may be related to the fact that I've been longing for female companionship and that's been on my mind a lot. I noticed that this problem really started when I had to leave for summer classes (to my college), and left a girl that I like behind. It was like a final blow, because this happens to me all the time, were I finally meet a girl that I really like, but it doesn't work out because of external forces.

Now that I read this I can see its turned into some venting lol but still my question remains- how can I improve my sleep quality? I am not looking for answers such as "find a new chick dude". Also I know someone may say to "get over that girl". But honestly that is not the problem, its more general than that. Thoughts anyone?

Answer:
Try clearing your mind before you go to sleep. Meditating or stretching can be very relieving.

Also, make sure everything around you is pretty comfortable such as noise level, lights, temperature, etc.. be picky. You may want to invest in a really comfortable bed or padding for it, I mean you are only sleeping on it every night.
I suggest you have your blood sugar level tested. Night sweats can suggest an organic health problem, such as diabetes. You may have a physical problem that is interfering with your ability to sleep soundly. Depression also upsets normal sleep patterns. See a doctor for a general checkup. If all is OK, try relaxation techniques to try to unwind. Lots of people do not have regular sex, and it doesn't interfere with their sleep. Good luck.
