My wife is a nurse. She says that rusty colored stool indicates that the bleeding is probably in your digestive tract. Doctors usually advise that if you have diarrhea more than 3 days, you should be seen. Also, diarrhea can cause severe dehyrdation, so it might not be a bad idea to purchase children's Pedialyte. It might be a good idea to, tomorrow, (1) call an on-call doctor, or speak to a doctor you might know, or (2) go to your local Urgent Care tomorrow morning, and be seen-- it can't hurt.

If the blood is outside the bowel movement and bright red you could probaly wait till Monday. If the blood however is inside and out and darker red then go to the ER. Pain is never normal, do what you think is right. It is obviously worrying you.

Will not advise on going to the ER--but if you do not--go to the grocery in the morning and get some yugurt--containing lactobacillus acidophyllis. Eat at least three or more per day. The antibiotic can destroy the villi in the intestines. This will cause the diahhrea which in turn will cause the bleeding if there is irritation.
