Hmmm...this sure sounds like a homework question.
It's a very difficult question but i suppose the effects upon the individual would be things like increased self identity,direction and participation and a decrease in the feelings of isolation and frustration,emotional disorders such as depression and anxiety to name but a few (i could go on but it would take a lot of time) so the effects upon the care settings would be directly proportionate.
