Those are common side effects of decongestants, some folks just notice them more or have them worse than others. There are technical chemical explainations, but for the most part you are just trying to mess with the body's natural reactions to infection and the body is arguing back. The best you can hope for is to determine which one and which dose gives the most tolerable amount of side effects. Sorry. I empathize, because they tend to cause me insomnia and the nervous twitchies as well.
You may want to give Mucinex a try, if you have not done so already.
Properly you have an allergy to the ingredients,i can't use aspirin because it causes me tummy troubles.
Try using something natural maybe an inhaler with saline and tea tree or a vaporizer with eucalyptus in it. The decongestant drugs Pseudo ephedrine or phenylepherine are the base for lots of street drugs, and interact with lots of other meds. hope you feel better soon.
