D nurse increased my sister's med (morphine) and she went unconscious and died.

Answer:
maybe she got morphine because she was already dying and the morphine was just to make her comfortable.
wow that sucks
yes
Sounds like it could have been. I always thought the same thing happened to a family member of mine. She was in great pain with no hope of recovery, but it was still so hard. Sorry for your loss.
Was your sister terminally ill? You give very little information here. If so, morphine is for pain and I assure you if she had cancer she had alot of pain. Both my brother and sister was on morphine also when they passed. It helps them ease to their death so to speak. Be assured that she was comfortable. My brother and sister were both struggling to breath. It was horrible to see. And by using the Morphine, it not only helps their pain it also eases and slows down their breathing til eventually they take their last breath peacefully and not struggling. Does this help. Both of them died of cancer and to see them suffering was horrible. Morphine did make it better for them. My brother was awake and struggling to breath and had so much pain. they hooked him up to a morphine drip and he became much more calm. we were able to say our goodbyes . Then eventually he fell into a deep sleep and died.
SO for hastening, i think not. For comfort and peacefulness YES! SO sorry about your loss. I have been there too many times already. So please be thankful that she went painlessly and peacefully. God Bless and many hugs to you!
