Dropped weight on foot and is swollen and blue how can i tell if it's broken or

Answer:
The only way to tell is if you get a x-ray. Please make an appointment to see you nearest podiatrist for an evaluation. It's better to be safe than sorry to make sure nothing is broken. In the meantime, stay off of it as much as you can. Keep the area iced, elevated, and take Advil/Aleve for the pain. Hope this helps!
go to the doctor
The best thing to do is to go along to your local hospital and have it checked out.
I don't think you can tell without going to the hospital. Go get it checked.
The foot changing color to blue and swelling usually indicates a break. You have to get this xrayed as soon as possible. Do not try walking on this foot. Get to the emergency room.
Sorry...the blueness does NOT necessarily indicate a break. I've been an x-ray tech for over 10 years, and it's more common than you think.

The only way you'll be able to tell if there is a fracture will be to have an x-ray done. I would suggest having it done sooner than later...it only takes three days for bone to begin to ossify (heal), and they will have to RE-BREAK it to set it again. Save yourself the pain.

Best of luck!
