it would be sore after wards, but during the surgery you would either be under anesthesia or have the area numbed. It shouldn't be extremely painful, but it won't be pain free either.
Just really depends on what kind of surgery your having,and it shouldnt hurt unless you dont get anestethia.
as long as they numb it you should be all set. wrist surgery isnt that bad
