Does smoking screw up a blood test.?

i had to take a blood test this morning i know you cant eat anything for like a 12 hour peroid before you take a blood test does that include smokeing. my last smoke was 4:00 pm yesturday and i came in for the test 8 am. will it afect the blood test i didnt eat anything though.
