Does eating too much asparagus make your pee-pee smell funny?

Answer:
Interestingly, this occurs in aout 40-50% of people who eat asparagus and is blamed on genetics!

A certain gene produces a digestive enzyme which breaks asparagus down into amino acids. Some experts believe an amino acid called methyl mercapatan is believed to cause that distinctive "asparagus pee" odor. Others say thioesters (another amino acid) is responsible. Still others blame the amino acid asparagusic acid (surprise, it's found in asparagus!).

I am one of the unfortunate 40-50%, by the way.
i've been told it does make your pee smell ...
Eating even a little asparagus gives the urine a strong odor.
Yup and eating too much beets turns it pink. I also noticed that the urine has a mild green tinge to it when you eat too much asparagus. No worries, you are ok.
Well, it kind of makes your pee smell funny even when you don't eat too much.
I don't know about the eating too much part. I notice just eating a regular serving size, like 6-8 spears. But its SOOOO good. The asparagus I mean, not the pee...
i dont know...is the pope a jew
yes asparagus can make your pee smell funny
Your urine may have a distinctive odor (and sometimes color) after eating many kinds of foods.

Asparagus is a classic for an obvious odor. You may remember the scene in the movie "Wolf" where Jack Nicholson's character urinates on his rival's shoes and says,
"Asparagus!".

Beets are good for turning urine red, and this can be startling if you are not expecting it!

If it bothers you, just wait, it will go away soon.
Why yes, as a matter of fact, it does! It's a natural diuretic.
I have been told that it does
