I am in a group where many people have had this surgery. Generally it took about 6 weeks for most of them to feel comfortable sleeping on their side, and not wanting to take extra naps during the day. Many of them went back to work after 4 weeks, but it was a bit of a struggle. Your bowels will start working more normally after 3 weeks, but really do not expect to want to run around for at least another month.
Up to about 6 weeks depending on how well you are progressing.
My ex had two, and the second time he was back to normal within a month, but he was determined to go back to football.
