Instead of chewing at your nails, which is a bad habit which will leave you with messed up fingertips, you could:
1. Chew gum which will keep your mouth active
2. Cut your nails in advance so you wont be tempted to bite 'em
3.Try keeping your hands away from your face so much
And, this may sound lame but, you can educate yourself by searching the consequences of nail biting.

there's this nasty stuff u can put on ur nails that tastes super gross...idk what it's called tho sry!
Get gel tips or acrylics. It doesn't feel the same as biting 'real' nails and besides that, most people will take better care of something they paid for.
Apply that stuff that they put on kid's thumbs to stop the thumb sucking habit. It's a very bitter taste.

well its kinda wierd but i hated being sick and then i started to realize that almost everytime i got sick becasue of the big amount of bacterias that i had in my fingers and hands..

my goodness i used to bite every once in i while I'll catch myself doing it
I tried everything bad tasting nail biting polish -kept going
cut my nails short and keept them that way-bit my skin and nials
manicures-i know it might be weird get a manicure i bit the paint off the nails and biting my nails stopped when i started again i got gum and sucking candies and while I was chewing or sucking the gum and mint candies i couldn't possibly chew my nails
Get the nail polish that tastes bad. Do NOT get fake nails put on as these weaken your natural nails and make them more prone to breaking, splitting and hangnails.
