Does anyone have any tips on relieving tension from a migraine?

Answer:
I have had migrain headaches for over ten years. What works for me is taking migrain excedrin. As soon as I feel a headache coming, I take two tablets and after an hour, it goes away. Try Excedrin Migrain. :)
go to amsterdam and try pot, grass, herb, green.
They have pills for that.
what I do is take a damp washcloth and heat it in the microwave for about a minute, get it really hot and put it over my forehead and eyes.
Amputation, usually works.
Use eye mask to cover eyes (if you get light effects)
Use heay/cool pad on head and wrap a towel round you head ! AND SLEEP!
This worked for my sister.
Oh you poor thing. I get migraines too. The only thing that helps me is to take a strong painkiller or tablets specifically for migraines and then go and lie down in a dark room until it passes. Try to sleep if you can.

PS: I agree with PAV above, sounds daft (and probably looks it) but sometimes I also tie my dressing gown cord around my head tightly like a sort of headband and the pressure seems to help.
a gram of coke!
Smoke dope...Pot can be very madesinal...If your talking about when your at work try mussle relaxants, and drink lots of water most of the time you dehydrated.
Stick your head under the shower with the cold only it really helps me.
Nice cold flannel over forehead and eyes or Tiger balm on the forehead, go lie down in a quiet, dark, cool room, and if you are anything like me with a migraine a bucket next to the bed too! I usually find once the migraine has taken hold no painkillers will help, I also find putting pressure on my temples with my fingers helps!!

Hope you feel better soon!
take an electric drill

2.2mm drill bit

and shove into your left ear for about 5cm depth

or just take some panadol
try a hot water behind your head that's what i did while i was pregnant and that helped a lot. i used it as a pillow.
Get as far away as you can from the person or persons who are giving you the migraines.
my mum used to sip warm milk with some cinnemon in it said it worked for her. i just take ibuprofen and go to bed
Don't get tense. How obvious is that.
bed and pain killers!
can use a heat or ice pack on my forehead or neck too, but usually I try to sleep it off.
My uncle gets morphine injections for his now tho,
Weird idea, but works for me on the rare occasions I get a bad migraine:

Fill a hot water bottle with cold/chilled water, wrap it in a towel and use it as a pillow for a lie down somewhere darkish and quiet. If you get migraines a lot and find this helps, perhaps think about investing in a Chillow - it's basically a cooling mat type thing you can put on top of your pillow. A couple of my friends have recommended it, and according to the company website, it's recognised by the UK migraine association.

Some people have recommended a shower or getting your head wet, but I've found doing that really only works if I'm sitting up while my hair dries. If i'm lying down -especially if I fall asleep- I end up with neck pain to add to the migraine!

Try sipping cool (but not chilled) water through a straw if you can while you're resting - I find it helps, as dehydration's often a factor in headaches, and a straw stops me drinking so much at once that i end up feeling ill. I'd avoid dairy products, alcohol and chocolate for a day after the migraine's ended - in my case these can sometimes trigger a repeat performance.

Hope these help, good luck, and all the best for a speedy recovery!
I would suggest you stay away from all dairy products for a few days. but for immediate relief try putting rum on a thin cloth and placing it on your forehead. that should do it.
This condition can be relieved and/or aleviated with acupuncture and Chinese therapeutic massage (tui na). I would suggest consulting an acupuncturist, particularly one certified in both acupuncture and Chinese herbology. Acupuncture is the most effective modality for treating pain and related conditions. You can find a certified acupuncturist in your local area by going to the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) website - http://www.nccaom.org/find.htm
Go to the bottom of the page to locate practitioners.
We have treated 15 & 20 yrs Migrains.
There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
