I can only give some advice. That person is going to change, allot, remember to love them always, b/c they will forget.
When my grandma got it, I went from being her grandson, to her son, to brother John, to dad, it was rough, I was only 15, the best thing to do is remember 'who' that person was. This may not have helped, but I did hear something about a possible cure, look for info on that.
