Does alcohol have any positive effects in regards to mental health?

Answer:
Yea it does, it makes you think you can do any thing! when you are acting like a fool. But seriously, no their isn't any thing positive about drinking alcohol. I ought to know, since I have been recovering for 12 years, and saw it destroy my two uncles, one aunt, and two of my cousins! So if there is any side effects of alcohol that is positive for your mental health, I don't know what it would be. It picks you up! Then drops you off a 100 ft. bldg. and leaves you to pick yourself back up again, only by indulging in alcohol AGAIN!
It makes you think you are smart and good -looking.
No not at all. It ruins your liver, kills brain cells, and has A TON of calories. I only drink wine but I have drank beer before
umm it does make you happy for a little while... sometimes
none -it's a depressant.
nope
er no... alcohol itself is a depressant...
Its helpful for relaxing, and the link between stress and health is well-documented. If you use it in moderation, and choose forms of alcohol like red wine instead of beer or liquor, then you will probably enjoy all the positive effects and none of the negatives.

If you for some reason can't use it in moderation, then you probably should abstain from alcohol, because for you the risks would outweigh any positive effect.
yes. it makes you wake up on the floor with sharpie maker all over your face.
