so do you realy think we need fear? or would life be beter without it? scientist answer too.
Answer:
I have heard it said that fear is: False Evidence Appearing Real I think that there are healthy fears, which prevent unhealthy responses and there are unhealthy fears, which prevent healthy responses. Sometimes when we "push through" our fears and over come them, we find we are capable of doing things we never thought we could. Anything that is "unknown" to us can cause fear, IE., you want to speak to someone but are afraid of rejection. Feel confident in your self and take the risk. They may not want to speak to you but you will never know until you try. Remember, 25% of all people you encounter WILL like you for all the right reasons and these are the people you should look for. Don't take it as rejection by the rest. Life is a quest, a journey, which leads to your destination. Remember, too, that there may be someone who is interested in you but to fearful to approach. Go with a positive attitude and most times, you will be rewarded.
Sometimes I think it is needed. Sometimes not. But for example you may need it.
Such as U might think of not using a condom but then you'll be afraid of her getting pregnant so you'll put it on. Or you'll be afraid to go into a lake cause you don't know whats in there and in fact theres alligators so its a good thing you didn't go, see where i'm going with this?
Fight or Flight
Fear to threatening situations is a biological construct that protects species from perishing, allowing them to mate, propogate their species and evolve. So, yes we need fear and wouldn't be better off without it.
I think we do need fear just for a variety of emotions. And also, like the philosopher Heraclitus said, we need sad things to make other things seem happy, so we probably need fear to make other things seem calm and safe.
I think that fear stands in the way of skill, but fear also stands in the way of stupidity. For example: If you are trying a new thing in an area that you are very skilled in, you may have the skill to accomplish this new thing but you fear doing it and therefor you can't. On the other hand if you are very new to something and don't have the skill to accomplish something but you are fearless about doing it you may be stupid and get hurt. fear is there to help us, but it can be very bad, especially when people let it hold them down or they become to paranoid, and develop illogical or unlikely fears.
fear is there to protect us when a certain threat arrises...fear can also come at the wrong times...and it can be disabling to feel the intense fear..when there is nothing to threatning us...just an illusion of our minds..such as anxiety
