Do you think this will help me?

I have had depression fro the last 6 months due to my life curcumstances which i am really unhappy with, i have no goals, no direction, am completely and utterly ashamed of my behavior for the past 6 months, i have booked a flight to manchester in three weeks which means i am leaving everyone behind, i dont want to be this girl anymore, who lies in her bed all day adn cries all the time, do you think i am strong enough to stop this if i move cities and jobs and start over? Or will i just be likely to do the same thing over there?

Answer:
Wanting to change your life for the better is always a good thing but running away may not be the answer. Look at the real reasons you are moving is it because you want to better yourself or because you want to run away from everything?? Good luck and Manchester is a nice place full of great jobs. once you have moved make sure you see a doctor and get some help in staying stable well you sort your new life out.
Running away never solves anything. We are always who we are regardless of where we are. Consider seeing a therapist. This may help you to discover an underlying reason for your feelings and how to best deal with them.
I know that you cannot run from problems. Even if you get a change in scenery you'll still have the depressing thoughts/memories. You may want to seek professional help before making a big move. Knowing you have a problem is the first, big step to recovery and it can be done - trust me and good luck!
I would not make any drastic decisions if you are depressed. Seek counseling and speak to your family and friends. Let them know you need help. If you need someone to talk to, email me, I have had depression for more than 20 years but handle it. Maybe I can help. take care. maggie
I think it's important to have at least one person (at home or elsewhere) that you can talk to if you have any problems in the new place. A sibling or relative or friend that can be there for you and will give you good advice and remind you why you moved.
I think the move could be a huge challenge. You should start thinking about what kind of job you want, and keep yourself busy getting a job and doing new things after you move. If you just sit around and lack motivation, you will end up in the same situation you are in right now.
Good for you for deciding that this is what you need to do. I wish you the best of luck.
You need to go to an MD, to get a little help. If you are crying a lot, are sad, and don't want to be with friends, then there is a good chance that you have a treatable chemical imbalance.

Moving could help, but only temporarily. A doctor can give you a faster more permanent cure...
Sounds like you need to figure out your strong points. What are you good at? What do you like to do? Your talents need to be put into production. NO ALCOHOL/DRUGS! You just need to take time out to figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life. DO NOT LISTEN TO DEPRESSING MUSIC! LISTEN TO UPLIFTING MUSIC! Some songs include: "Hero" by Mariah Carey, "You Are Loved" by Josh Groban, "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera. There is always someone who cares about you...whether you know it or not.
You should see your doctor. Make sure you're getting enough exercise. I'd avoid the Prozac type of medicine. Long term depression isn't going away if you move. Also it sounds dumb but start taking a B complex vitamin.
Maybe you need a little vacation. Sometimes getting away from everything makes you realize what your biggest problems are in life. I was also depressed throughout the previous winter months but I slowly feel myself getting better. I could never leave my family like that because they are so important to me. You leaving your life behind and starting over could help, or it could make things worse and leave you with a sense of emptiness. Have you tried talking to a specialist like a psychologist? They can help out big time.

Good Luck and I wish you happiness in your life.
u will b the same person. u have 2 change circumstances around u, not location.
