Do you excessively daydream/fanatise??

I daydream about 60% of everyday , its something i do to get away from my depressing life.

Is there any1 else who does this??

Answer:
It's normal to fatasize and day dream throughout the day but 60% is quit high. what you are really asking is why is my life so depressing? go about changing it now! you dont have to have a grand plan to change the history of your life you know. Try picking one thing and doing it. You are obviously borded and while i dont know you siuation meaning what is or isnt possible for you to do (like if you are married or have kids) do this, sit down write out 10 things that you always wanted to do then eliminate the ones you know you cant do. what evers left, pick one. I used to daydream more than i should have cause i was bored and i felt my life was un for filling. I joined the army. it got my head back in the game and i liked the callenges it gave me. Im not saying you got to go out and join the military thats just an example. point is either you give yourself a (mission) or you will continue on this (head in the clouds) course and it isnt healthy. p.s. i still make up little fantasies in my head at bed time, it helps me go to sleep. hehe
Yes, most people do day dream. I know that I do. I day dream that everything in my house is done and it is spotless. But then reality comes crashing down and I have to get off my *** and do it myself.
Absolutely, I read lots of fantasy and play RPGs on the computer whenever I have spare time.
I often get caught staring into space imagining fighting orcs somewhere in middle earth while I'm supposed to be driving an excavator.
I do this pretty much 24/7 for the same reasons as you i have avoidant personality disorder and it is a symptom before i knew that i thought i was crazy
I daydream every day- i love my imaginary life!!
I do, TOO much some would say. But you know if it allows you to escape from reality for a while and make you more content then go for it =). I do it too, and it sometimes helps me conjure up goals to achieve, and gives me motivation to achieve them, so daydreaming can be an excellent thing - just make sure you don't get so involved with your daydreams that they start to feel like a reality, because you'll start living in them and that can be really bad.
Hi, i actually asked virtually the same question myself a few days ago!

The question was entitled "Living in a daydream" if you want to look it up - i got some reassuring replies, and it seems that plenty of people do this - just no one mentions it!

I do it often. Sometimes i want to be alone so that i can continue with my daydream. Going to work gets in the way of it. I normally have the same daydream going on for a long time and i just go and repeat it over and over. I get actual feelings with it, as though i would if it was real.

I suffer depression myself and so perhaps this does have something to do with it.

So, don't worry, you are not the only one! xx
yes.ive done this since i was a child.obviously i dont have so much spare time on my hands nowadays, so do it less.i think in a way its like meditation, and an escape from life.using your imagination is a good thing and i see daydreaming as a healthy passtime!just dont let life pass you by!!
yep. all the time! whenever i feel low, i always pretend that famous people are my friends and in my head i tell them my problems and then imagine what their answers would be. i think i am quite strange doing this, but apparently its just my way of coping with depression.
Who doesn't? Those people who say its sad are only jealous cos they haven't any imagination or lack intelligence. It would be sad to live like that. How can you achieve things in life without fanatising or daydreaming, as you call it. Whatever makes you happymust be good for you. Good luck
