Do psychiatrist take walk in patients?

and if so what all do i need. and what is the process for first time visit. i just moved and need a new doctor but i also need a perscription asap because mine just ran out

Answer:
The only way to know is to call their offices. Some do take walk-in patients, where others do not. If you are in a real bind and need more meds asap, I would recommend finding a walk-in urgent care clinic or something to see someone right away. Otherwise, you will need to make some phone calls to determine who you really need to see.
No they do not take walk in patients. Find a regular doc and they can prescribe meds for you.
No
No Doctor takes walk in people..
Dial 911 and tell them you would like to be admitted to the hospital.. You will be able to get medication within a few hours
If they took walk- ins, they would never get out of the office. Call the nearest psych office that takes your insurance and set an appointment. In some cases they can help you with samples before you get your prescription or if you cannot afford it at the time. It depends on who you see and what you take.
"My momma told me, you'd better shop around"
call your local community mental heatlh but they normally take a while to get you in but let them knowe that if they have a cancellation that you would be glad to fill that in...but i would for now maybe take your records of watever meds you are out of and goto the E.R and check in on the symtoms you are haveing with out your meds they may be able to help out! goodluck
