Answer:
if you are under 18 yrs and are not an emancipated minor, your parents have a right to your medical care. but, what is said between a therapist and patient of any age is confidential unless the patient states that a crime has been committed. if you think you need counseling, do it.
Yes, it is a must! She has to know. Morally and legally, your mother has to know every thing about you until you become 18 years old. Or until you became legally an adult to conduct your problem in a mature and responsible way.
Im pretty sure your parents need to know. I'm also underage. Way underage. I think I need one to but I'm just to afraid to say anything to them. Your not alone. Try talking to a good friend you can trust It's what I do.
No. In Ohio there is a government funded program called Title X. This program gives you free counseling with out your parents having to know. Go to your local mental health clinic and see if they have that program or a similar program.
This is for everyone underage that needs a therapist:
Tell your parents how you feel, they will get you a therapist if they think you really need one, i'm underage, and i explained myself to my parents, and wham. i got a therapist [that helped a lottt] but if they decide to say no, then go to a local boys&girls club or something, or go to your Pastor, these people are always there to help you no matter what your situation is!
Since you are under age, can't you talk to a counselor at school? I don't mean for academics, but in my city they have one on staff for the students. May be can point you in the right direction.
I would tell your Mom straight up... Mom I need a Therapist.
Also see a Counselor at school tell they how you feel and your needs.
Also it is great you realize this.
Take Care ♥
