Do I have OCD??

My boyfriend just told me that he seriously thinks I have minor ocd. his dad is a doctor, and his dad told him that he's noticed little things about me that he thinks I may have it. i don't think I do, especially after I just looked up symptoms. the possible symptoms are: always worrying that something really bad happened to him if he doesn't answer his phone, stressing (in their opinion) wayyy too much over finals and grades. also, i keep my closet organized by colors, and i stress out over things like where to put a multicolored shirt. if i start taking notes in pen one day, i can not finish in pencil the next day. if i start tracing a pattern onto fabric in one color, i can not finish in another color. so i worry a little much, and i'm a little picky about order. that's not necessarily ocd, is it? what do you think?

Answer:
Even if a medical specialist diagnosed you with "minor" OCD, another one would not. What's really important is whether it affects your life negatively. Is it really impossible for you to finish yesterday's notes in pen with a pencil today? If you can force yourself to do it anyway you should. Wear clashing colors on purpose alone in your room. Stop counting how many of which coins are in your coinpurse. Force yourself to go to sleep without triple checking the alarm clock. If you can change your patterns and still be fine you probably don't need treatment.
Alot of us would love to be organized, I think you are just a very organized person and like order in your life, but I am not a doctor, you might go see one and get checked out though. good luck
Nope, you are just picky/particular
it could be, but i think most of what you do is actually quite normal. i mean, no one likes notes half in pen and half in pencil, and most people want good grades. i'm not a doctor or anything, but i thought that ocd was more of repetition such as locking your door a certain number of times or walking up the stairs over and over. the best way to find out for sure if you have ocd would be to go to a doctor who can maybe either tell you if you have ocd theirself, or recommend you to an expert.
yes i think you have OCD. i have it and i do that stuff too.
You do not have OCD.
BS"D
yeah, something is cooking there, but you are not a nut; be kind to yourself and start observing yourself objectively - like be your own best friend and start to take inventory so to speak.
with this awareness, it will be a great tool to start monitoring yourself.
also, you might want to go to a bookstore and go to the self help section and see if you resonate with anything there. chances are you will resonate with a lot. careful, books are expensive - dont ocd over them (sorry, just joking).
or go to the library.
once you know more about it, you will understand if it applies to you.
btw, ocd is very very broad, it includes woe so much. so, broaden your mind to learn, but dont necessary identify with everything you read.
so read for education sake, and within time you will start to be able to join the dots - if in fact there are the dots in the first place.
good luck,
it is great you wrote in about this. shows you are an open person willing to discover what you may not necessarily like to know about yourself.
also, tell your boyfriend to be sensitive to this issue - finger pointing may not help at all. see if you can discuss with him ways he may communicate in a more supportive way.
well he(your Boyfriend) is actually right, don't take offense to my answer your Boyfriend cares about and his Dad's a Doctor, so take there Advice and Listen, they actually did an accurate diagonsis.
