Do I have game addiction?

I recently read about that article on Yahoo! about game addiction. It got me thinking. I do play games a lot, but I still keep my grades up to A's . Usually I start playing at midnight , but I know when to stop . (around 3:00)
I don't skip meals, but on rare occasions I do.
I stay in my room playing video games a lot.
I ignore friends usually unless they're playing with me.
I usually skip showers because of video games.
I also love video games.
I doesn't seem like I am an addict to the extent of where I would totally shun the real world and live in my game world, but I want to make sure. So, do I have a game addiction?

Answer:
Your not addicted yet, because you've asked this question, an addict wouldn't, but your pretty close.

If you could manage one whole day without playing a video game once, and survive, then that would prove you can still cope.
Yes, you are. But you have a good attitude, that is what matters. But just don't ignore your friends. By the way, I also played until 3.30 a.m. before.
Lol I'm like this too!
except I don't skip showers...haha
Well this is an addiction, but it's only because you're determined to beat the game. And once you beat it you don't play as much...until you get a new game.
Yeah I read this article too, but wen I read about the people that had this 'addiction' I don't really believe they represent the majority of actual gamers.

I too play Online games but that doesn't stop me from being a total wacko who doesn't eat or sleep much. As with reference to grades? I try to do well in school too. Friends? Who says you have to ignore them (or don't have them) wen u can meet em online?

So you shouldn't really place urself in the same crowd as the rest of these 'addicts'

Also, I'd like to add that the article (as well as the parents and the people interviewed) were rather unfair. Especially the parents. I mean take the the parents who claimed that WoW turned their son into a monster for example. The things they said? They sound more like the words of people who hated video games from the very start. People should really stop looking for ways to bash video gaming and (in the worst case) look for a reason to lump it in the same category as drugs and sex (consequently making it illegal).

I mean seriously, these people really don't seem to want to admit that video gaming can actually be a fun experience for most people so as long as there's proper control.

These people are just one of those old fashioned, close minded dweebs who long for the 'old days' (not lyk I hate oldies stuff but times change and this is a sign of it)
I don't think so. Its a problem when the computer is destroying your life. And it seems like you still have it under control.
