Answer:
you are drinking for the wrong reasons , never drink to fight deppression.

I drink to get pissed
Yes, it is too much. In addition, the alcohol is a depressant in and of itself, and likely exacerbates your condition.
Yes...you are drinking too much...alcohol makes your depression worse.stop the drinking before that becomes a problem.see your dr. for anti depressants.they do help.STOP THE WINE
drink is a depressant ..a bottle of wine a night is too much
ALCOHOL IS A DEPRESSANT SO YOU SHOULD STAY AWAY! YES THAT IT TOO MUCH!
wine is a depressant so it will make you depression worse and yes that is too much wven w/o the depression
If you're asking the question, obviously you already have an idea that you may be abusing alcohol. You're better off talking to a licensed therapist to help you deal with your depression.
If you have to ask, you are fdrinking too much.

By the way what is a "fdrink" and how much is "ateast"?

If we knew those answers perhaps we could give you better suggestions.
Oh, I know what your saying..beleive me...but alcohol is a depressant...you should get to a doctor... maybe they could perscribe an anti-depressant...been there done that..take care
Umm yeah not a good idea. You should probably see a professional!
if you are looking for an honest answer then - yes - get it back in control before it starts to control you, its a downward slope, believe me, ive been there - see if you can cut down to 2 glasses a night to begin with, then 1 glass, stopping altogether can cause withdrawal symptons so you need to wean yourself off. good luck
dno.
Not at all, have one for me.
Too much. Seek therapy.
The rule of thumb on drinking too much is that if you have to ask--you're drinking too much.

As just about everyone who answers this is going to say, drinking only makes depression worse. Depression is a serious disease that kills way too many people and ruins millions of lives. Self medicating isn't the way to go.

Worse, the best cure for Depression is taking control of your life and expanding your options. Anything that impairs you and eats into your capital is a step in the wrong direction.

See a Doctor, not just a pill pusher who'll give you something to mask the symptoms, or a therapist who'll make you more depressed when you get the bill for the time you spent talking about your depression--but a clinic that specializes in managing depression that can set you up with a comprehensive management program. Your local Medical Society can tell you where to find them.
you should share it with your friends a bottle a week is plenty
It is very common for people with depression to "self-medicate" with alcohol or other substances. Unfortunately the alcohol exacerbates the problem while it appears to make things feel better temporarily. Alcohol in and of itself is a depressant. Anxiety leads to depression. This is a bad combination. Please get some professional help. Depression is easily treated with some of the new medications. Treating depression with alcohol is like adding "fuel to the fire" and it will eventually consume your life. best wishes
Hey listen Moose, You're not the first person who has drunk to forget and I'm sure you won't be the last. A lot of people at some point in their lives have done what your doing. You drink to forget then wake up the next day feeling just as bad if not worse because of a) the damn hangover and b) you remember why it was you drank in the first place. Now I'm not going to preach to you because I feel that you already know the answer to your question, however there are alternatives. Find yourself a hobby, it doesn't matter what it is or how stupid it may sound. I had a bad patch a few years ago where I was drinking more vodka than I should a good and I mean GOOD friend sorted me out by suggesting I used my creative skills. At first I was sceptical but after a while I realised, just as I'm sure you do, that you have to take charge of your life. I started making models. Just the plastic ones at first and then the more intricate matchstick ones. What I'm trying to say is that you dont always need drink to forget. I wish you all the luck in the world my friend and hope you win the battle.

Best wishes Col
Yes this is to much but i'm sure you already know that, but Unfortunately the alcohol exacerbates the problem while it appears to make things feel better temporarily. Alcohol is a depressant in itself. But I can understand and see that you dont see any other way to cope so many people are doing the same everyday. Go to your doctor and tell him/her about this they might be able to find you some proffessional help wherther its a councellor, therapist or even an AA meeting, i know its hard but keep fighting Good Luck!
