Answer:
your body produces growth hormone on it's own so when you supply it with the actually growth hormone your body will decrease the amount it makes naturally so when you go off the genotropin you will find that your GH levels will drop significantly. the best way to boost your GH levels is to do it naturally via secretagogues which are substances that nourish the anterior pituitary gland and help your body to naturally increase it's own GH levels. also proper sleep can influence your GH as there are cycles in the night where GH is released but if you are not sleeping durring those cycles you won't have the same level of release.

i took a the generic version of genotropin, my ex brother in law was extremely over weight due to aGHD. he had the trans dermal gel. I used about a month supply of it and right where i rub it on I noticed that the area would get a little more sore than the rest of my body while i was working out. I did loose a lot more weight than i would have on a normal diet. HOWEVER! i have to warn you that if you are taking it for cosmetic reasons like i did, then you need to wait. At your age your body is still producing a massive amount of hormones, if you don't have a deficiency then you can permanently damage yourself. Your pituitary will stop making it's own hormone after a while and when you come off of the Genotropin, you will notice a huge difference for the worse. I would advise against it. I would have to say that cost/ benefit analysis says that it isn't worth the trouble.
