Confustion on birth control instructions?

Here it says from what i gather, when you are done with a pack you wait seven days for your next pack. Is it safe to have sex within these seven days you are off the pills? And why do you have to go off the pills for seven days within new packs?

Answer:
Yes, it is safe, you go off of the pills so you can have your period. The pills will prevent you from ovulating but your period will come anyway. Make sure you start tacking the pills again as instructed.
CALL YOUR DOCTOR -NOT YAHOO!
NO!

what it means is that the last 7 pills (the ones you're supposed to take during your period) don't have any medicine in them. still take them, to keep your habit, but you don't need the birth control during those days.

it's safe to have sex then, too!
yes it is safe to have sex during the seven days of non use as long as you have been on the pill for at least 3 months, the week in which you dont take the pills is to allow for your body to menstrate, the hormone builds its self up in your bloodstream and protects you from pregnancy during this week as well
what it is saying is that at the end of the pack are sugar pills so youll have your period(usually they are a difffernt color than the regular pills) so yeah and you should use some othe type of protection during this time since its sugar pills
You take each pack and start a new one the next day after you finish the old one. The reminder pills, or the ones without any hormones, usually a different color, are built in so that you take the pack and start taking those until you finish them. Then you start a new package, even if you are still having your period. If you have any other questions, you should call your pharmacy because they know your prescription and can help you out.
As long as you use 21 active pills in a row, you can go without hormones for 7 days. It is completely safe (from pregnancy) to have sex on your off days as long as you take your pills properly each active day.

Birth control pills were set up especially like this so you can have a "normal" period. Back when thet were first invented, there were no days off, and it creeped people out because they never got their period. The drop in hormones on your off days causes you to shed your vaginal lining.

BC pills cause you not to ovulate thus there is no way you can become pregnant if you take them properly (99.99% safe if you take them completely on time)
If you are taking pills that come 21 to a pack, you are supposed to wait a week then start taking the next pack again. If you are taking pills that come 28 to a pack there should be no gap between your last pack and the next.

For the 21 pill type, the week off the pill is the same as the week of reminder pills in the 28 pill type. You need to go through a withdrawl from the hormones you have been taking in order to have your period. It is safe to have sex during that week.
