You r not supposed to eat 2 hrs b4 working out to avoid cramping and don't eat 2 hrs after bcuz your body it still burning calories. To get rid of your love handles try side crunches. Also do high cardio like swimming, running, or jump rope
Thats what I heard as well, The only thing in my stomach is about a pint or 2 of water.
When you start to excercise, the body is going to look for the easiest source of energy, which is sugar. If there isn't any readily available then it will start to work on stored sugars in fat cells and such so medically it made sense to me.
